I. Boarding Procedures
Please confirm your boarding time and boarding location with your travel agency or cruise line. When checking in, please present your valid passport (with at least 6 months remaining before expiration) and boarding certificate.
II. Regulations regarding accompanying baggage and items
1) Adult passengers (>20 years old) are permitted to carry up to 1 box (200pcs) of cigarettes and 1 liter of alcohol. Amounts in excess of these limits should be declared to Customs for paying tax.
2) Anti-money-laundering measures - Cash: The maximum currency amounts noted below are per passenger, per currency, and not subject to age restrictions.
- NTD: Not more than NT$100,000 in notes may be carried by each passenger. The amount in excess of NT$100,000 shall be declared to the Customs and placed in bond for subsequent return. If not declared, the exceeding amount of NTD currencies shall be subject to confiscation. Failure to declare or a false declaration may lead to confiscation of the items.
- RMB: Not more than RMB20,000 in notes may be carried by each passenger. The amount in excess of RMB20,000 shall be declared to the Customs and placed in bond for subsequent return abroad. If not declared, the exceeding amount of RMB currencies shall be subject to confiscation. Failure to declare or a false declaration may lead to confiscation of the items.
- Other Foreign Currencies: Passengers must declare the amount of foreign currencies in excess of US$10,000 (or its equivalent in other foreign currencies, including HKD and MOP). If not declared, the exceeding amount of foreign currencies shall be subject to confiscation. Failure to declare or a false declaration may lead to confiscation of the items.
3) Passengers may not carry in animals, plants, or their products (e.g., meat, fruit, etc.). Imports of said items must be handled in accordance with relevant national quarantine regulations and rules and shall be reported to Customs or the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine (BAPHIQ). Those who fail to report said items in their possession shall be subject to a minimum fine of NT$3,000, with serious offenders referred for possible prosecution.
